“Duke” is a 15-year-old draft x gelding standing at 16.2HH. Don’t let his size fool you. He is the gentle giant. He loves attention and has such a sweet personality.
Duke has had several different jobs in his career of life. He has been used for weddings to pull a carriage. He has been used in Christmas parades, He has been taken to local fun shows, and he’s even been used to work cattle.
I call Duke the babysitter because that’s what he is. You can jump on him bareback with a halter and go or saddle him up and go for a nice trial ride. If you like this, the best part is to hook him up, grab a cooler, and drive to town with Duke! Everyone LOVES him!
Everyone wants a horse that is gentle on the ground and doesn’t spook at anything! Well, we found a balloon in the pasture, and guess what?! I picked it up and tied it to him! Didn’t even flinch.
Duke has no bad habits. He’s easy to catch, picks all his feet up with just a tap, lowers his head for the halter or bridle, very food motivated, stands to be saddled, stands to get on, and even moves to the mounting block, and most of all he’s GENTLE!
Let Duke be your next family horse. You’ll fall in love with him the moment you meet him. I know I did! He will be excellent for the kids, husband, and even grandma!
