Checkers is an absolute dream pony for an child and just the perfect size at just under 10 H. , our 10 year old son has ridden and driven him all over , anything from trail riding to pleasure driving to hauling hay and everything in between , he has even tagged along on a 3 mile trip by road to a park nearby for a trail ride and back , he kept right up with the big horse and cantered to catch up if needed , he is happy to go into water to cool off after a ride , trail rides like a big horse ,he will ride bareback or with a saddle , he is super friendly and doesn’t have to work to stay broke , he is easy to tack and up and has also been ridden by our 6 year old son with minimal supervision , if you’re looking to finish your Christmas shopping for any child on your list here you go , if needed we can hold him till Christmas Eve
