I could write a book on the things I love about Mikey. Mikey is 5 years old, 39 inches, a true roan, and the most beautiful, well-mannered pony that you have ever seen. Mikey is patient, forgiving, and always looking out for his kids. He was broke and trained here at our place by myself and our 5 year old twin boys. He has carried kids from 3-8 years old. He’s been everywhere with us from the rodeos to the roping arena, and trail rides with bigger horses. Our daily adventures with Mikey usually include my twin boys pretending they are pick-up men at the rodeo, steer wrestlers, playing cowboys and Indians, or anything else the boys and Mikey can scheme up. I cannot stress enough the trust I have in this pony, he is the definition of bomb proof. Mikey is down for whatever you throw at him. He will come find you whether he is turned out on 20 acres or in a stall, he will find you to be caught. He loves attention, belly scratches, and being around little people. Mikey will lope around correctly with a handle better than most big horses and when asked to stop he will pull up and walk off on a loose rein. He will adjust to his rider and go the speed they ask. If they are true beginners, he will take good care of his jockey with patience and gentleness. He will stand patiently to be saddled, bathed, clipped, and to be mounted. He has roped the dummy, played on barrels, chased calves, and is broke to pull a cart. On the ground he will follow you around like a puppy. Mikey has seen it all from the rodeo lights with loud music, grand entries, ATVs, tractors, been around tons of other horses, and all the commotion that comes with living on our place. He’s a solid thinker and has the ability to make sure his rider is taken care of. My kids love to intentionally fall off of him and Mikey will literally nose up to them to make sure they are ok. This pony means the world to us and will be the hardest to let go. If you want your kids to have a love for horses as they grow up then Mikey is the one they need to jump start their riding career. At just 5 years old, Mikey could be a generational pony for your family being passed down from your kids to their kids. He will be the pony that when your kids are grown, they will still talk about the sweet memories that were made with this special pony. A zero-vice pony that’s beautiful with the biggest heart and personality. Life has been so much fun with Mikey. Don’t let this once in a lifetime pony pass you and your family by.
