Zane is a sharp looking, well made, 15.2 hand red roan gelding. He does have an AQHA registration that goes with him, but as we don’t have a current transfer he sells grade. Zane is in great condition for his age, winters well, and is an easy keeper. He has a nice handle on him, a great one hand-neck rein, and is just fun to ride around. He rides out alone or in a group and rides nice in the arena. He can get fresh if you let him sit for a long time, but warm him up when you saddle him the first time and he’ll be fine after that, you won’t need to warm him up every day. Zane is a finished rope horse on the heading side, but he can be hot in the box. He hasn’t done it much in the last couple of years, but he knows his job, tracks great, and he’s fast. He’s still got a big motor and power for his age, so not recommended for a beginner. He is a gentleman to handle on the ground. He’s good to catch, stands tied, loads and hauls, and is good for the farrier and is UTD. Zane does have a scar on his side behind his right elbow but it doesn’t bother him as long as you pay attention to where your cinch lies, he also has a small patchy scar on his neck that is purely cosmetic and hardly noticeable, but it is there. Zane had all last spring and summer off and when we pulled him from pasture in the fall he was a little lame. Couldn’t quite nail down what caused it so we gave him the winter off. Pulled him out again early this spring and he’s currently been sound every day, but we’re selling him as is.
