“Mason” is a 6yr old, 15.3hh, Percheron/Friesian cross gelding. Let me just start by saying this, I don’t think I have ever owned a horse like Mason. Here is a true unicorn. Quiet, sweet, versatile, beginner safe to ride and drive, and he can do a bit of everything! Mason is a once in a lifetime horse, that you won’t want to miss out on!

This boy is kind, and in your pocket. His nick name should be “Yes Man”, because he has never told me no. Riding season is right around the corner, and if you are looking for a safe, handsome, fancy mount, Mason is your boy.

On the trails Mason will lead, follow, go out alone and in groups. He is brave and independent. He will cross anything you ask, water, logs, rocks. He is safe with traffic, bikes, dogs, wildlife, and is not spooky. He is the type of horse that can take a joke and takes care of his rider. I would trust throwing anyone on him. He is patient, and will go all day long on the buckle. You can canter him across a field, and he will come right back down to a quiet walk. Mason does not need to be in a routine, he can sit for weeks, be tacked up and go, with no silly business.

Mason rides western, English, and bareback. His gaits are extremely comfortable, and he has the nicest canter I have ever seen a draft cross have. His gaits are smooth and uphill, and his speeds are super adjustable. He has a great whoa button, backs up, pivots, side passes, moves off of leg, and he knows his leads.

He will ride slow, gentle, and on the buckle, like the type of horse you would throw your husband on to learn with. Yet he is athletic, agile, and will pick up the pace for a more advanced rider. He is the PERFECT combo of whoa and go. And did I mention safe??

In the ring, Mason will walk, trot, canter, and pop over fences. He is soft in your hands and will ride collected or on a loose rein. He is honest and willing to please. Mason will pop over cross rails, larger fences, and has been introduced to a few cross-country fences as well. He does not get strong or forward while jumping. He is very forgiving and slows down if he feels his rider lose balance. You would never guess that Mason is only 6 years old. He is extremely mature and has the best head on his shoulders.

Mason is broke to drive single and double. He is amateur friendly under harness. He stops and stands patiently, listens super well to voice commands, and loves a pleasure stroll through town. Mason is traffic safe, and overall such a fun boy to drive. Mason stands to be harnessed and hitched.

In the barn, Mason has no bad habits. He can be stalled, or live out. He goes out with a mixed herd, and can be turned out alone as well, with no issues. He greets you at the gate every morning. Mason stands on the cross ties to be bathed, groomed, braided, tacked, clipped, etc. He has very good ground manners, and he is gentle. He is safe for anyone to work around. He is good for the vet, and the farrier, he can go barefoot or be shod, he has great feet and currently has front shoes on for trail riding. He is a super easy keeper with a simple diet, no maintenance or supplements. Mason loads and hauls perfectly. He will back off of a trailer too. You can tie him to the trailer to tack up and he is the same horse off property, as if he’s at home.

I could go on and on about the amazing qualities on this extremely handsome horse. He is true all-arounder, and the type of horse that you can hardly find anymore. At only 6yrs old, Mason has a whole life ahead of him. This is a horse that is full of endless opportunities, that is able to go in absolutely any direction! I could see him doing so many different things such as being a hunt horse with his quiet mind and careful feet, a dressage horse with his uphill, beautiful movement, a husband horse with his patient demeanor, a combined driving horse with his athleticism, various western disciplines with his buttons and willingness, and the list goes on.
