“Rifle”

Registered name, LCAPACHEVALENTINE300. Jaw dropping gorgeous AQHA black gelding. (He is actually a blue roan and is registered as such but has very little roan- if you zoom in you can see the white hairs on his flank)

Rifle is being offered at the same time as “Pistol” his little pony look-alike. They sell separately, but we wanted to give any Mamas or Daddies and their mini me the opportunity to match, so we are offering both in the same online auction.

Rifle is 6 years old and stands 15.2hh. He’s a big soggy gelding with good bone, solid feet and will last you a lifetime. Rifle is an absolute sweetheart. “In your pocket” all the time, hoping you’ll give him some attention. He wants to be your best friend, and he would really appreciate it if you’d pet and pamper him all day. He’s a sweet boy and loves people. There isn’t a mean bone in his body.

Rifle is a luxury to ride. He’s soft in the face, has a comfortable, walk, smooth trot, floating lope. He will also collect and carry himself beautifully at any gait. He is responsive and easy, and his favorite pace is slow and smooth. Rifle has all the fancy buttons, yet beginners or riders who want to build confidence enjoy how user friendly and safe he is!

He neck reins, has a nice responsive stop, and reverse and moves well off of leg pressure.

Rifle has moved and pushed steers around and done a little penning and sorting, and other light ranch work. Our 7-year-old rides him and enjoys working on his horsemanship and practicing for ranch riding and as a parent, having a horse around that’s safe for anyone- offers peace of mind.

Out on the trails, Rifle crosses creeks, logs, down slippery banks, through the mud, around traffic or other horses, he is perfectly capable and does everything with ease. He’s traffic safe and been ridden downtown around traffic and loud construction, bicycles etc. He’s also been ridden through some pretty difficult terrain, and you couldn’t ask for him to navigate it any better.

Trustworthy, sane, honest, and dependable are just a few words to describe Rifle.

Excellent ground manners. Easy to catch, bathe, good for the farrier, stands patiently. Good stalls manners.

He trailers and hauls well. He is completely sound and sells 100% in every way.

Rifle has the tools and ability to go on in any direction, he would excel in the show ring, make someone a handy ranch using horse, a head horse, or barrels, he is extremely versatile and bred to do it all. The possibilities are endless, and Rifle is ready and willing. We will surely miss this barn favorite, though we are excited for his new owner.

Another fun fact about Rifle: He was the winning colt in the Southern Equine Expo Colt starting challenge as a 3-year-old in 2020 with trainer Mark Lyon. There he was purchased after winning the challenge- and has remained with the same owner since!

Rifle passed his Pre Purchase Exam with flying colors. Completed by Todd County Animal Clinic, Equine Vet John Laster, DVM on 9/27/23. Official exam paperwork included and can also be sent to you or your vet.
