53rd Annual All American Quarter Horse Congress Opens October 1-27
 
COLUMBUS, OH - The All American Quarter Horse Congress returns October 1-27 as not only the largest single-breed horse show in the world, but as the largest event and convention in the Columbus area.
 
Over the years, the Ohio Expo Center hosts more than 650,000 AAQHC visitors each October, including over 7,500 horses. The three week show generates over $409 million for the central Ohio economy.
 
AAQHC horses and riders gather from across the world to compete in hundreds of classes, ranging from barrel racing to cattle cutting, cowboy mounted shooting and horse jumping throughout the month. More than $3 million is awarded in cash and prizes for competitors. 
 
Four ticketed special events are offered throughout the Congress: the Congress Cutting Champions Challenge presented by Cinch, Professional Bull Riders presented by Gerri Leigh Pratt, Freestyle Reining presented by dac and the Congress Masters in Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle presented by the Equine Chronicle. Tickets for each can be purchased online today.
 
Aside from the show ring, attendees can tour one of the largest equine trade shows in the world inside the AAQHC Trade Show from October 4-27. The seven-acre show contains over 250 vendors selling products ranging from jewelry to farm equipment are open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.. 
 
Other attractions include horse-related lectures and demonstrations, a collegiate and youth equine judging contest, as well as an array of fair food lining the main walk. Stromboli, bourbon chicken, cream puffs and more are available throughout the Congress.
 
Admission is free and parking is charged are per vehicle with a $25 day pass ($15 every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) or a $75 pass for the entire event. More information regarding the show, exhibits and events can be found at www.quarterhorsecongress.com.
