Heeza Gunsmoke, affectionately known as “Smudge,” is a 2017 AQHA registered gelding. He is my favorite color, palomino! He has the most golden coat with a snow white mane and tail and big white blaze. I joke all the time and call him the “best boy” because he is simply that. His temperament and heart is pure gold!

We have had the pleasure of knowing Smudge since he was a 2 year old. He was started in our program and was sold to a couple in Ohio, where he spent a little over a year being her husbands main horse. Due to her husbands declined health they unfortunately had to sell Smudge, so he got to come back home!

This gelding has done everything from packing myself around 9 months pregnant, to teaching my 2 year old what a true unicorn is all about.

He has spent several months roping on the heel side. He has also been hauled to several ranch rodeos and won. Smudge is very accustomed to the lights, noise and action, and is not bothered by it in anyway. When taken to different places he settles in quickly and is not spooky.

He lopes gorgeous circles both directions on a draped rein. He has wonderful speed control and stays the same speed even on a loose rein. He has a great stop and wonderful turn arounds. Smudge would excel well in the ranch riding as well as the trail classes.

He has been ridden by anyone and everyone, from our 2 year old, to my father who is in his 60’s and he is the same for every jockey; steady, quiet and willing.

Out on the trail he is a complete confidence builder. He packs everyone right along through the water, trenches, up hills and valleys and over logs. He is easy to navigate through heavy brush and rocks and is very sure footed. We have trail ridden him all over our ranch in Oklahoma and also hauled him to North Carolina on many occasions to trail ride and he is the same anywhere you pull him off the trailer.

He stands quietly to be bathed, clipped, groomed and saddled. Smudge is clean legged, and doesn’t have a hair out of place!

This gelding has the biggest and brightest personality of any horse I have ever had the pleasure to own. He is very near and dear to our whole family and we want to see him in the best home possible!
